Long Beach Attractions
Long Beach combines big city sophistication with a laidback coastal vibe. Walkability
Though it’s California’s seventh largest city, visitors don’t have to spend a lot of time in their car to see everything Long Beach has to offer. Long Beach is ranked as one America’s most walkable cities. Its scenic waterfront is just steps from its lively downtown, with more than 125 bars, restaurants and attractions within an eight-block radius, including the Aquarium of the Pacific.
It’s just a short rideshare to the historic Queen Mary ocean liner, Museum of Latin American Art, Retro Row, Belmont Shore, Naples and its romantic canals.
Olympic History in Long Beach
Olympic history is woven into the fabric of Long Beach, having hosted rowing and sailing events in 1932 and sailing, fencing and archery competitions in 1984. Some of the same facilities will be utilized as sites of competition in 2028. For instance, Marine Stadium, which hosted rowing in 1932, will once again host the rowing competition in 2028, as well as canoe sprint. In addition, competitions in sailing will be held at Belmont Shore, marathon swimming at Alamitos Beach, handball inside the Long Beach Arena and water polo in a temporary pool constructed behind the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center.
