Beach Streets Downtown
Get ready to bike, skate, walk or run through the closed streets of downtown!
Weekends in Long Beach mean one thing—go outside! Whether you’re a bike rider, roller skater, speed walker, or a skateboarder, there’s bound to be something for you at the Beach Streets Downtown event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 19. Grab the whole family and head over to the four mile route encompassing the Broadway Corridor, Pine Avenue, East Village Arts District, and 4th Street Retro Row to soak up the fun.
Take the kids over to 4th Street Retro Row for the kid zone aptly named Retrovia featuring bounce houses, a climbing wall, break dance workshops, face painting and many more fun activities!
Concert fanatics, you will get your fill at Beach Streets Downtown. Bands and DJs will be playing at three locations along the route: Bixby Park, 4th Street Retro Row, and at the Beach Streets Block Party. Entertainment will include performances from Whiskey Tango, Halle Johnson, Tall Walls, Buck Bowen, The Buttertones, DJ Abel and many more! Get your groove on during one of the break dance competitions happening throughout the day!
Local businesses are encouraged to bring the fun and food outdoors and many local restaurants have exhibited at previous Beach Streets events. Foodies, we’re looking at you! Some of Long Beach’s best restaurants line the route like Bo-beau, Attic Restaurant, Lola’s Mexican Cuisine, Restauration, and George’s Greek Café, to name a few.
Beach Streets invites participants to think differently about our Long Beach streets. This event allows you to check out shops and eateries from the street level, rather than through the windshield. For some, you may never walk or bike around town; let this event introduce you to a whole new way of maneuvering Long Beach. Beach Streets Downtown has all the makings of a fun-filled Saturday—we hope to see you there!
