Facilities

The Long Beach Airport is known for providing a high-quality customer experience, thanks to its convenience and resort-style design. The passenger concourse features an open air garden with a view of the airfield, shopping and dining concessions operated by local Long Beach vendors, device charging stations, and accessible facilities for travelers with service animals or small children.

Renovations

Long Beach Airport has garnered extensive praise for the careful restoration and preservation of its history, as well as awards for sustainability and modern updates to the design and architecture of its facilities. LGB is in the midst of a $122 million improvement program to make enhancements to the airport. A new Ticketing Lobby and Checked Baggage Inspection System was completed in 2022, and a new consolidated Baggage Claim opened in 2023 to make the travel experience that much smoother from curb to gate.

Parking and Transportation

Are you planning to park and fly? LGB offers convenient parking on site, within walking distance to the terminal. The cost is $25 per day for parking in Garage A, (directly across from the terminal), and $20 per day in Garage B.

The airport is also accessible by Long Beach Transit bus service, taxi, and rideshare services.

LGB is among the Best Airports in the United States, based on votes by readers of Condé Nast Traveler magazine. Ranking eighth nationwide in 2022, LGB continues to be a favorite among visitors who recognize that its relaxing beachside vibes and convenient Southern California location create a first-class travel experience.

LGB was also rated the Best Airport for Dining in the 2016 10Best.com Readers Choice poll sponsored by USA Today.

The passenger concourse earned a LEED Silver rating from the U.S. Green Building Council in 2012.

Arts and Culture

To enhance the customer experience and engage travelers in thought-provoking and memorable ways, the Long Beach Airport hosts art exhibits and programs throughout its facilities. In addition, LGB Live! musical performances are scheduled throughout the summer and winter holidays, and ongoing restoration of the airport’s original mosaic art murals will culminate in the airport’s 100th year in 2023.
