The 12th annual Long Beach Kite Festival is free for all ages!
A Kaleidoscope of Kites: Witness the sky come alive with kites of every shape, size, and color, reflecting the beauty and joy from the community.
Cultural Celebration:
Experience the rich tradition of the Shakrain festival of Dhaka. An annual celebration in Long Beach observed with flying kites and festivities for the family.
Family Fun:
Enjoy a day by the beach with activities for all ages. From interactive kite-flying workshops to traditional Bangladeshi string-cutting challenges, musical pillow, kids drawing and a face painting booth! There's something for everyone!
Hands-On Learning:
At 2pm 200 free kites will be given out to kids where our staff and parents will teach them how to fly a kite. After all the kids have their kites in the air, we will be giving parents 300 kites too at 3pm!
Perfect for beginners and seasoned kite-flyers alike! Have a kite already? Bring it!
Entertainment & Community:
Engage with local food & clothing vendors with our vibrant Bengali community as we come together to celebrate this cherished tradition. There will be live Bangladeshi musical performances and a DJ playing popular multicultural hits!!
