Art Exhibition: On the Edge

“ON THE EDGE,” a collection of works from Steven Edwards and Kingsley Aarons, comes to Loiter Galleries this summer with a joint mission: To present Art that lives on the edge. Although Edwards and Aarons have not previously exhibited together, they believe their common mission unites their two unique styles and mediums.

Edwards is a photographer who thrives on, and insists upon, realism. His images are created 100% “in camera,” never altered post shoot with digital effects on a computer. All his prints are done on high-quality metallic paper, giving them an added glimmer. His use of clear glass objects, lit by colored lights, provide a kaleidoscope of shimmering tones.

Aarons is a master of mixed media, employing collages of photos, both color and black and white, along with cut and paste photography. He sometimes adds spray paint or acrylic pens to meld together the powerful and playful images he’s chosen.

The Grand Opening for On The Edge is on July 26, from 5 to 8 pm. This coincides with the DTLB Art Walk. Closing night is August 23. Regular gallery hours are Thursday to Saturday, 5-8 pm; and Sundays from 1-4 pm.
