Longing for a poolside daiquiri in a private cabana? Need a few hours of lounging in the sun followed by a quick swim or soak in a hot tub? Many of Long Beach’s hotels and resorts are using an app-based reservation service to offer access to their pools. Why not treat yourself to a pool day at some of the city’s finest local lodgings.

Across the harbor from Downtown Long Beach, Hotel Maya (700 Queensway Dr.) offers a resort-style “daycation” experience through the ResortPass app, with a choice of day passes at $50 per adult and $20 per child or a cabana for four for $300. While the kids play at the giant chess board or ping pong tables, you can enjoy the outdoor heated pool and Jacuzzi, complimentary Wi-Fi, private sand beach area, and poolside food and drink service from the hotel’s restaurant, Fuego. Don’t forget to grab your complimentary cookie at check-in (after all, Hotel Maya is a Doubletree).
