Celebrate Halloween in August at Midsummer Scream – Halloween and Horror Convention, Southern California's premier horror and haunt convention. Held annually at the Long Beach Convention Center, this three-day event is a ghoulish delight for fans of all things Halloween, horror, and haunted attractions. The convention even has a scare-free area for little ones, making it a fun, family-friendly outing!
Activities
- Vendors: Explore the vast showroom floor with over 350 vendors showcasing horror collectibles, props, special effects for haunted attractions, gothic apparel, and more.
- Previews: Get behind-the-scenes looks at upcoming Halloween events and attractions.
- Events: Panels and performances by top horror icons and entertainment companies.
- Hall of Shadows: Make your way through over a dozen haunted attractions including walk-through mazes, horror-themed VR experiences, escape rooms, and immersive theatre.
- Photos: Get a professional photo with your favorite horror actors and voice actors.
- Paranormal Pixie’s Pumpkin Patch: A kid-friendly zone, where little ones can enjoy special performances, book readings, and other fun activities without any of the gore and scares.
The Screaming Room Film Festival
Adding to the festival's thrills, The Screaming Room Film Festival treats viewers to a cinematic nightmare with over 70 chilling horror short films from around the globe – all included with your admission to Midsummer Scream. The shorts have been categorized into various genres, so you can easily watch all of the shorts in your favorite horror genre.

The Midsummer Scream Halloween and Horror Convention is on Friday, August 15 - Sunday, August 17, 2025 at the Long Beach Convention Center, 300 E Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA.
Midsummer Scream will be open during the following hours:
- Friday: 6pm-10pm
- Saturday: 11am-7pm
- Sunday: 11am-6pm
Passes
Midsummer Scream offers a variety of passes to suit every ghoul's budget, including single-day passes, weekend passes, VIP passes, and special add-on experiences. Passes can be purchased online, but beware - they often sell out early!
Parking & Transportation
There are several transportation options for Midsummer Scream attendees. For those who plan on driving, parking is available at the Long Beach Convention Center and surrounding lots. For those preferring public transportation, the Long Beach Transit system offers bus services throughout the city, and the Metro Blue Line provides a convenient rail connection from downtown Los Angeles to Long Beach.
