Veterans Day in Long Beach

This Veterans Day, Long Beach offers a variety of meaningful ways to honor those who served. Celebrations will include historic tributes, free admission to local attractions, and events with family-friendly activities, live music, and patriotic ceremonies. In addition, resources will be offered for veterans and active-duty military, as the city once again comes together to show its appreciation on November 11.

QUEEN MARY

Honor a history of service and commitment on a legendary vessel with a proud wartime legacy. The historic Queen Mary (1126 Queens Hwy), which served as a troop transport during World War II, will offer a special tribute to those who served, Nov. 11. Veterans, active-duty military and their guests will enjoy free admission on a day filled with live music, arts and crafts, letter-writing to active troops, and storytelling from fellow veterans. Meet the ship’s Captain and officers and explore the Queen Mary’s rich military history through self-guided tours and exhibits.

AQUARIUM OF THE PACIFIC

BATTLESHIP IOWA

Celebrate Veterans Day aboard the historic Battleship IOWA (250 S Harbor Blvd, San Pedro) with Football on the Fantail, an afternoon of community, fun, and football! Kicking off at 12:30 PM, the event features a social mixer, kids STEM zone, and a warm welcome from the Military and Veterans Team. Enjoy hot dogs, wings, and beer from Vicky’s Doghouse while watching the Rams vs. 49ers game on the fantail. Don’t miss halftime veteran shout-outs and post-game networking as those who served are honored.

VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION

Join the City of Long Beach for its annual Veterans Day Celebration at Houghton Park (6301 Myrtle Ave) on Nov. 11, honoring the courage and sacrifice of our nation's veterans. This free community event features a formal ceremony, patriotic performances, guest speakers, and recognition of local service members. Families can also enjoy live music, food vendors and resource booths for veterans.
