Tanabata Festival
The Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden on the campus of California State University, Long Beach will host its annual Tanabata Festival with giveaways, crafts, and music in the garden.
Celebrate the magic of Tanabata, a traditional Japanese festival that honors the legendary meeting of the star-crossed lovers Orihime and Hikoboshi, who are said to reunite just once a year. As part of the tradition, guests write their wishes on colorful tanzaku paper and hang them on bamboo branches in hopes that their dreams will come true.
This will be a joyful day filled with music, crafts, and family-friendly activities that highlight Japanese culture.Map
