POJ (Pieces of Japan) Studio is offering kintsugi workshops at Intertrend Communications in Long Beach. Kintsugi is a practice that transforms broken ceramic vessels into gorgeous, food-safe and long-lasting items.
The Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with lacquer and gold is inherently slow and deliberate, requiring patience, focus, and care rather than perfection or concealment. Many are drawn to kintsugi as a way to reconnect with presence and intentionality.
The Scene is your introduction to Kintsugi. The Scene will guide you through the initial steps of a kintsugi repair and give you the cultural background of the craft over the course of 2 hours.
