To cap off an extraordinary weekend, Mayor Richardson invites attendees to celebrate the leadership transition of the U.S. Conference of Mayors beneath the stars. This special event marks the official passing of the torch as outgoing USCM President and Oklahoma City Mayor David Holt hands the gavel over to incoming President and San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria.
The celebration takes place aboard the historic RMS Queen Mary, a true Long Beach icon that will be brilliantly lit up for the occasion.
- The Queen Mary Legacy: A retired British ocean liner that crossed the Atlantic from 1936 to 1967, famously carrying historical luminaries such as Winston Churchill, Audrey Hepburn, and Clark Gable. During World War II, she was converted to a troopship, ferrying soldiers across the ocean to the frontlines and back. The ship opened to the public in Long Beach in 1971 and today serves as one of the city's most beloved hotels, museums, and premier event venues.
