Women’s History Month Events in Long Beach

Whether you’re looking to network, learn, sip, stroll or simply show support, these local events offer plenty of ways to join the celebration.

LONG BEACH LAST CALL

Long Beach Last Call is celebrating Women’s History Month on March 2, 6 to 9 PM, with an all-women cocktail competition at Port City Tavern (4306 E Anaheim St). Presented by Mijenta Tequila, a woman-owned and -operated tequileria, this spirited event spotlights women across the industry, with all-female judges and competitors crafting creative cocktails featuring a tequila made for and by women. Raise a glass to talent, innovation and empowerment at this one-of-a-kind evening honoring women in hospitality.

LONG BEACH CITY COLLEGE

Long Beach City College (4901 E Carson St) celebrates Women’s History Month with a dynamic lineup of campus events. The Kick-Off on March 4 from 12 to 2 PM (LAC T-1200) brings the community together for food, music and resources. Bloom & Bliss: Embrace Wellness, Celebrate Women follows on March 18 from 11:30 AM to 1 PM on the campus Quad, offering mindfulness and self-care. On March 27, the Meet Your Village Women’s Softball Tailgate takes place from 11 AM to 3 PM at the campus softball field and features a pre-game celebration and noon game.

FIRST FRIDAYS

Bixby Knoll’s always popular First Fridays event returns March 6 from 6:30 to 9:30 PM, to celebrate Women’s History Month with an evening of live music, art and performances honoring the creativity and contributions of women in the community. Stroll the neighborhood while supporting local restaurants, breweries and shops open late for the occasion, many offering special deals. Discover a lineup of artists and entertainers, and enjoy a festive night spotlighting the women that shaped Long Beach.

WATCH ME! SPORTS BAR

Watch Me! Sports Bar (6527 E Pacific Coast Hwy), California’s first sports bar dedicated to women’s sports, kicks off a month of events on March 7, honoring National Women’s Coaches Day and celebrating women sports leaders. On March 13, the Watch Me! Rock Festival spotlights local women musicians performing in the courtyard. Known for elevated gastropub fare and wall-to-wall screens, it will also host viewing parties for the women’s singles final at the BNP Paribas Open on March 15 and the Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournament beginning March 18. Look for great food and drink specials offered throughout the month.
