JUNETEENTH
Downtown Long Beach has hosted an annual Juneteenth event for decades, transforming the area into a celebration of freedom, resilience and African American culture. While organized by different groups over the years, the event has consistently offered free admission for a community-focused festival that features live music and dance across multiple stages, local artists, educational programming, and popular food vendors. In 2026, the celebration moved to The Promenade, activating the Downtown core and bringing families and the community together to celebrate Black history while supporting local businesses and organizations.
DTLB LIVE!
DTLB Live! is Downtown Long Beach's ongoing outdoor entertainment series, transforming The Promenade into a lively gathering place with free concerts, themed parties, cultural celebrations and family friendly activities. Each event offers a unique mix of live music, local food and drinks, encouraging residents and visitors to experience Downtown in a fun, welcoming atmosphere. DTLB Live! is also an EZ Sip Entertainment Zone event, meaning you can purchase beverages from participating bars and enjoy them throughout the designated event footprint, creating a relaxed, walkable street festival atmosphere.
TASTE OF DOWNTOWN
Taste of Downtown, presented for the Summer 2026 edition in conjunction with KCRW Summer Nights, will transform Pine Avenue into an open air celebration of Long Beach's dynamic culinary scene, Aug. 22, from 6 to 10 PM. The all-ages event invites visitors to sample signature bites from many of the city's favorite restaurants while also enjoying craft beers, cocktails and wine. The festival expands onto The Promenade with live DJ sets, dancing and interactive entertainment that keep the energy high all evening.
DTLB ART + DESIGN WALK
DTLB Art + Design Walk transforms Pine Avenue, The Promenade and East Village Arts District with exhibitions, installations and interactive experiences built around a creative theme. The free event invites visitors to explore Downtown's walkable districts while discovering local artists, designers, galleries and businesses celebrating creativity, culture and community. Streets come alive with musicians, performers and artisan vendors, while neighborhood businesses welcome visitors with special events and extended hours.
DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS
Downtown Long Beach's Día de los Muertos celebration beautifully honors loved ones through colorful altars, traditional music, folklorico dance, cultural performances and authentic Mexican cuisine. Families gather to experience vibrant decorations, local artisans and hands-on activities while learning about the rich traditions behind the holiday. The event balances remembrance with celebration, creating one of the city's most meaningful and visually stunning annual festivals.
