The Art of Debriefing, is a collection of over 200 Gelatin Silver photographs depicting candid reflections of imprints on those touched by war. Presented by 4 photographers, the exhibit explores the life of veterans and their personal experiences of re-entry into a civilian lifestyle. The Art of Debriefing was previously hosted by the Museum of History and Art (Ontario, CA), the National Vietnam Veterans Art Museum (Chicago, IL) and LAAVAA (Culver City, CA). The black and white photographs in the exhibit portray war veterans from WWI up through soldiers serving today, war combat images from Vietnam shot between 1965-1970, images of Vietnam citizens from the Cheo Reo Province and images from Saigon, Vietnam circa 1969-1970. The five featured photographers are Peggy Fontenot, James K. Johnson, Jerry Kykisz and Michael Burr. SUN DECK GALLERY Queen Mary, 1126 Queen's Highway, Long Beach. Together with Crystal Ice Skating, The Pike brings the classic holiday experience of ice skating to the community this season. With the unique outdoor location just steps from Rainbow Harbor on the waterfront in Downtown Long Beach, the rink offers another component of entertainment to the area during the holidays. The rink will be open November 27, 2009 through January 31, 2010, seven days a week; weekdays 11am – 11pm and weekends 10am to 12am. Skate sessions are 1.5 hours long. Skater's parking will be validated in The Pike’s parking structure.

A holiday production performed at the Long Beach Playhouse, Lutz Radio Hour is a nostalgic glimpse into the world of radio, this delightful holiday play takes place on the night before the radio station converts to television. Complete with sound effects, radio commercials, and, of course, laughs, drama, and fun, the 1947 Lutz Radio Hour is a treat for the entire family. An honored community tradition, the Belmont Shore Christmas Parade takes place on E. 2nd St. from Livingston Ave. to Bayshore Ave. and returns to Livingston Ave. Thousands line the street to watch the 100+ entries and one dozen marching bands.

In celebration of the holiday season, Scuba Santa will be delivering an ocean of gifts to the Aquarium of the Pacific’s sea otters, seals, sea lions, birds, fish, and other animals. Guests can see Scuba Santa dive with sharks and watch the Aquarium’s animals receive their special treats and enrichment gifts during the Holiday Treats for the Animals weekend. Families can enjoy holiday music, crafts, special presentations, unique photo opportunities, shopping, and more. The Seal and Sea Lion Habitat will be decked out for the “sea”son with frozen “fishmas” treats. Guests can watch the sea otters savor candy cane-shaped ice treats, gourmet lobster tails, and their very own snowman. Throughout the day Aquarium staff will give special gift delicacies to other marine animals as well. A One Mile race to kick off the Holiday Season on 2nd Street in Belmont Shore, right before the annual Belmont Shore Christmas Parade. Participants are encouraged to dress up in holiday costume and run in front of over 40,000 people cheering from the sidewalk. Be creative! Get silly!
