Poems on Motherhood at Fair Trade Long Beach
Independent bookshop Moonstone & Mist will host a Mother's Day edition of their Book of the Month Club events at Fair Trade Long Beach.
The event will feature a discussion of A History of Holding: Poems on Motherhood with author Allison Mei-Li.
This free event offers a meaningful way to celebrate the holiday, inviting attendees into an intimate conversation on motherhood, creativity, and identity, with time for audience questions and a book signing.
Mei-Li’s debut, A History of Holding: Poems on Motherhood, was recently selected as a Bookshop.org Bookseller Pick for Women’s History Month. The collection explores motherhood as both a physical and emotional transformation, where love expands alongside exhaustion, grief, and awe.
The May 9 event is part of Moonstone & Mist’s ongoing Book of the Month series, which highlights local authors and fosters community-centered literary gatherings in Southern California.
Light snacks and beverages will be provided.
