Overview
City Place Shopping Center, in the heart of downtown Long Beach, CA, covers eight city blocks and is bound by Third Street to the south, Sixth Street to the north, Pine Avenue to the west and Elm Avenue to the east. City Place is the former site of Long Beach Plaza, an enclosed mall which formerly occupied most of the site, but has since been demolished.

City Place, 450,000 square feet of retail space and 341 residential units (120 residential condominiums and 221 apartment rental units). Wal-Mart, 134,147 square feet, Albertson's, 57,945 square feet, Sav-on, 14,884 square feet, Nordstrom Rack, 29,945 square feet and Ross Dress For Less, 28,073 square feet, will open stores at CityPlace beginning in fall 2002. Retail opportunities exist throughout the development which will benefit from strong anchor tenant draw and excellent access.

City Place is in close proximity to high-rise condominiums and apartment buildings, the city's financial and business district and many first-class hotels. Daytime population for the immediate trade area exceeds 165,100 people. The market's major employers include a mix of financial institutions, high-tech manufacturing, state and local government, medical facilities, universities, and tourist destinations.
